From TeachShare.org
The Lock: Teaching has always been hard. We work mostly independently, trying to do the best we can without a lot of support. It's always been this way and it always will be.
How to get involved
This site works just like Wikipedia, so you can edit every page (except for this one). We want every teacher to share 3 of their best insights every year until we have organized a manual of best practices.
To begin:
- Type the name of a course into the search bar above and hit "search". If the course comes up, hit the edit sign, add your tips and save them. You'll be asked to answer a quick math question to prove you're human.
- If you search for a something that doesn't exist on the site yet TeachShare will ask you if you want to start the page. Say yes! You will be helping a lot of teachers. And you will be helping maybe thousands of students to have better lessons. This kind of crowdsourcing (collaborative planning) is the future.
Popular Pages
We have a lot of great pages on this site. Here are a few of the most popular these days:
- IB Courses provides tips and advice for teaching all of the IB (DP) courses
- Teaching Techniques could remind you of a fun in-class approach that you haven't tried in a while.
- Marking Shorthand can help you with your marking.
- Recent Additions shows you what pages the community has been working on recently.
- Starter activities can help you start your lessons with a bang.
- Assessment approaches includes some surprisingly effective approaches to something we often dread.
- Or have a look at all of the pages people have added so far.
